In accordance, with section 345.301 of the Code of Federal Regulations, the Railroad Retirement Board is required to provide each employer with the information necessary for you to pay your Railroad Unemployment Insurance Act (RUIA) contributions for the following calendar year, no later than October 15th of each year.
Regretfully, both the electronic and paper version of the Form ID-40R/S, Annual Notice to Employers – Railroad Unemployment Insurance Act, will be delayed. The notice, which provides each employer an individual breakdown of how their individual employer contribution rate under the RUIA was calculated for the years 2020- 2022, will be released by mid-November2022.
If you are not the person in your organization who should receive the contribution rates and earnings base notices, please share this information with the appropriate members of your staff who are responsible for filing service and compensation reporting forms for employees of your organization.
