2021 Virtual National Rail Employer Training Seminar (NRETS) Registration

On-line registration is now open for the Eleventh National Rail Employer Training Seminar (NRETS)!  This seminar will be held virtually for three-days beginning Tuesday, August 3rd through Thursday, August 5th, 2021.  We will be holding the event on the Railroad Retirement Board's (RRB) new virtual conference platform.

This event is targeted for those persons who work in, or manage, the subject areas of service, compensation, and contributions reported to the RRB, and related areas.  This includes, but is not limited to, payroll personnel, accountants, controllers, claims agents, benefit administrators, auditors, and executives of employers covered under the Railroad Retirement Act.

The Seminar in Brief

The seminar will begin with a general session for all attendees at 10 a.m. (C.S.T) on Tuesday and end at 2:15 pm (CST) on Thursday afternoon.  Depending on your individual time zone you will need to sign-on as early as 9am (EST) or as late as 11am (MST) or 12noon (PST).   A reminder email will be sent to everyone 30 minutes before the start of each event. The Management Member of the Board, Thomas R. Jayne, will open the seminar, followed by the Senior Executive Officer.  The topics to be discuss in the executive sessions will include a welcome address and information on strategies, direction and goals for the agency.

Each instructional session will run approximately 45 minutes and includes a brief question and answer at the end of each session.  Each day we have also scheduled one 15 minute break and a 30 minute lunch hour for virtual attendees.  All instructional sessions are conducted by RRB subject matter experts and will cover a wide variety of areas on employer coverage, experience rating, audits, on-line reporting and railroad retirement benefits.

All registered attendees will have the opportunity to update their personal employee information, employer contact information, and/or post a new/upcoming job vacancy for your company in the RRB's Virtual Informational Booth.
