The U.S. Railroad Retirement Board (RRB) has announced that retired railroad workers receiving a monthly annuity from the RRB can now update their address and direct deposit information online.
At this time, these new online services are not available to retired spouses or other annuitants, who must contact a local RRB field office to make changes to their mailing address or direct deposit information.
Like many agencies across the federal government, the RRB is currently working through an extensive Information Technology modernization initiative to bring numerous legacy systems into the 21st century and transform how the agency does business. The undertaking of this project demonstrates the RRB’s commitment to improve mission performance, expand service capabilities, and strengthen cybersecurity.
After signing in to myRRB at RRB.gov/myRRB, retired railroad workers receiving a monthly annuity from the RRB can click on Change My Address to update their mailing address or Manage My Direct Deposit to add or change their direct deposit information.
A Login.gov account is required to access all secure myRRB services. The RRB encourages railroad employees to verify their identities with Login.gov while still working to expedite the filing process for future unemployment and sickness benefits, and to access the other secure online services. For Login.gov account support, employees should visit login.gov/contact/.
In addition to these new myRRB services, railroad employees can also sign in to:
- Apply for unemployment benefits,
- Claim unemployment benefits,
- View unemployment/sickness account statement,
- Claim sickness benefits,
- Access unemployment/sickness tax documents,
- View service and compensation history, and
- Get retirement benefits estimate
All retired annuitants may request a duplicate tax statement, monthly rate verification letter, or replacement Medicare card by selecting the button labeled Request Documents at RRB.gov/myRRB without signing in to myRRB. In addition, railroad employees can request a copy of their service and compensation record by selecting the same button.
Railroad workers and retired annuitants may also pay bills online by going to the bottom of myRRB and selecting the button for the type of debt they owe (unemployment/sickness, retirement/survivor, or Medicare).
